In this empathy challenge, girls had the chance to apply principles of architecture and design while learning a little more about their moms. #LadyMaker Christa Flores walked participants through the basics of using mathematics to create small-scale replicas of living spaces. Girls learned about blueprints, floor plans, and the kinds of questions architects consider when designing spaces for clients.
Girls then interviewed their mothers to learn about their ideal dream spaces and began the process of design and small scale construction.
Mothers and daughters worked together to bring these designs to life.
At the end of the workshop, the girls gathered to describe the spaces they’d designed for their mothers, which needs these designs fulfilled, and the unique challenges the teams faced in the process. Next up, Lumos! Magical Circuits on April 29th!
